Job description

Who We Are

Verily Health is a data platform and technology company purpose-built to power AI-enabled precision health solutions that accelerate research and improve care for individuals and communities. Uniquely positioned at the intersection of technology, data science, and healthcare, Verily transforms multimodal health data into insights, models, and actions that make healthcare more personalized, predictive, and precise.

Description

At Verily, Data Collections are the core data primitive of the Pre Platform and the canonical unit through which data is packaged, governed, and made accessible across the ecosystem. As the Senior Product Manager for Data Collections, you will own the end-to-end strategy and execution across collection management, agentic and LLM-powered data profiling, and the visualization and exploration experiences that make data actionable for researchers, data scientists, and clinicians. Your role will focus on building the trusted, scalable backbone of data management and discovery across Verily, including the central data catalog infrastructure that organizes and governs all Data Collections platform-wide. You will work closely with engineering, data management, and platform teams to deliver on that vision.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Data Collections Platform Strategy: Define and execute the multi-year product vision and roadmap for Data Collections, setting priorities across tooling, infrastructure, and user experience, and establishing the success metrics that guide investment across the platform.

  • Build Collection Tooling and Catalog Infrastructure: Drive the design and delivery of tooling for creating, managing, and curating Data Collections, including the central data catalog that governs discovery, metadata, and policy attachment across the platform.

  • Leverage Agentic AI for Data Profiling: Lead the product development of LLM-powered data profiling capabilities that automatically characterize datasets, surface data quality signals, and generate structured metadata, reducing manual burden and accelerating data readiness.

  • Deliver Next-Generation Data Exploration: Define and build a data exploration and visualization experience that allows researchers, data scientists, and clinicians to browse, query, and cohort across any Data Collection.

  • Drive Cross-Platform Adoption: Partner with solutions teams and external enterprise partners to drive adoption of Data Collections across the Pre Platform, ensuring consistent integration and serving as the connective tissue between platform infrastructure and the products built on top of it.

Qualifications

  • Education & Core Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or equivalent practical experience, combined with 5+ years of progressive product management experience.

  • Data Platform Experience: 3+ years of direct experience building and shipping data platform products including data catalogs, data management tooling, or data infrastructure in a B2B enterprise environment.

  • Technical Product Leadership: Proven ability to define and drive technical product roadmaps with engineering and data science teams, with a strong command of data modeling, metadata management, and platform architecture concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Biomedical Data & Standards: Familiarity with multimodal biomedical data types (EHR, genomics, imaging, wearables) and industry data standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7, OMOP), as well as the governance challenges unique to health data.

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Experience building data products on cloud infrastructure such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS, with an understanding of cloud-native data architecture patterns.

  • LLM & Agentic AI: Hands-on experience building AI-powered data products leveraging LLMs for data profiling, metadata generation, semantic search, or automated data quality assessment, including experience with agentic workflows.

  • Data Catalog & Governance: Experience building enterprise data catalog products with a strong understanding of data governance, policy management, and the needs of data stewards, compliance teams, and research operators in healthcare or life sciences organizations.
