Job description

Who we are

Our mission at Quandri is to transform insurance into a trusted and delightful experience using AI. We are building the AI operating system for North America’s best insurance agencies and brokerages.

For the first time ever, we have the technology to fundamentally change how insurance operates, and the stakes are human. Better insurance means families protected from harm, businesses able to take risks, and communities more resilient when the worst happens. For insurance practitioners, the ability to deliver this level of service finally becomes possible.

What we do

Quandri brings deeply specific, vertically-focused AI to the industry’s most critical stakeholders:insurance agencies and brokerages.

Agents are the lifeblood of the industry, the place where most property and casualty insurance is sold and serviced. Yet operating an agency is harder than ever. Peak product complexity, accelerating consolidation, a deepening talent crisis, and the AI revolution are all reshaping how agencies work.

Quandri sits at the cutting edge of this shift, rebuilding how agencies operate one workflow at a time. We pair a deep understanding of insurance processes, systems, and data with serious technical capability and proprietary models, so the transformation is tangible and operational rather than aspirational.

We're making insurance better for policyholders, while helping insurance brokerages deliver a better client service, grow faster, and harness AI so that they control the future of insurance distribution.

Why join us?

You'll join a fast-moving team with real ownership, direct access to leadership, and a genuine hand in shaping the company's next chapter.

We are headquartered in beautiful Vancouver, BC, backed by leading US and Canadian investors, and the recognition has followed:

  • LinkedIn’s Top Canadian Startups in 2024 & 2025

  • Deloitte’s Fast 50

  • CB Insights’ Insurtech 50 and Fintech 100

  • The Globe and Mail’s Top Growing Companies in Canada.

About the Role

You will build Quandri's next product, taking our proven platform into commercial lines. This is the rare version of zero-to-one work. Our platform already processes thousands of personal lines renewals in production, so you're building something new on a foundation of working technology, real revenue, and customers ready to serve as design partners.

Commercial is a harder problem than personal lines. The policies are more complex, carrier appetite is harder to read, and nobody has automated the workflow well, which is exactly why it's worth doing. You will own the product end to end, running discovery with agencies, defining what we build first, deciding what we reuse from the platform and what we create new, and driving it through launch to early adoption. You will report to the VP of Product, building on discovery already underway.

Success means market entry and early customer adoption, not features shipped. If ambiguity energizes you and being in front of customers every week sounds like the best part of the job, you will thrive here.

Why this Role Matters

Commercial is the next big market for Quandri. We've built a proven platform and a deep understanding of insurance agencies and brokerages, and expanding into commercial lines is how that foundation compounds. The market is large and underserved, with commercial renewals still running through manual, fragmented processes that eat broker time out of all proportion to the premium earned. You'll define Quandri's entry and write the playbook we use for every market after this one.

What You’ll Do:
  • Discovery & Product Definition: Take the commercial discovery already underway and drive it to conclusions. You'll spend real time with account managers, producers, and agency leaders at agencies of different sizes, mapping the commercial renewal workflow end to end. What you learn becomes the product definition, covering what we build, what data it needs, and how the experience should feel.
  • Product Strategy & Roadmap Ownership: You'll set the commercial product strategy and own the roadmap. That means deciding which parts of our platform carry over and where we need net-new capability, then sequencing deliberately, starting with the highest-leverage workflows and the lightest approach that gets us to market and learning quickly.
  • 0-to-1 Product Development: Commercial has genuinely hard problems, and you'll own them from problem definition through launch and iteration. Expect to validate solution approaches with cheap prototypes before committing engineering, and to design experiments that test the riskiest assumptions early.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Shipping this product takes the whole company. You'll drive alignment across engineering, design, implementation, and customer success, influence platform and architecture decisions so commercial strengthens the product rather than fragmenting it, and help the organization understand where commercial differs from personal lines.
  • Go-to-Market & Early Adoption: Getting to market is part of the job, not a handoff. You'll partner with Sales and Marketing on commercial positioning, target customers, and early-adopter criteria, then choose the right design partners from our existing customers and fold what they teach us back into the product and the messaging.
  • Measurement & Iteration: You'll define the metrics that connect product usage to broker outcomes. At this stage, learning velocity matters as much as absolute numbers, so you'll build measurement to match and change course quickly when the outcomes aren't there.
The right person for this role will have:

Product judgment matters for this role. We're looking for someone who thinks rigorously about customer problems and ships outcomes and we're glad to take a shot on an excellent product thinker and teach them the insurance. Commercial P&C knowledge is preferred rather than required, and if you bring both, even better.

  • 7+ years of product management experience, with a track record of shipping products that drive measurable business outcomes in fast-moving environments

  • 0-to-1 experience taking a product from concept through discovery, launch, and early scaling, under ambiguous requirements and with limited historical data

  • Strong discovery skills. You've run customer research that uncovers root workflow problems rather than surface requests, interviewed brokers or account managers, mapped operational workflows, and turned the findings into product requirements

  • Platform thinking. You can judge how a new product area fits an existing platform, where to lean on shared infrastructure like extraction pipelines, analysis engines and agency/brokerage management systems integrations, and where to build net-new

  • Prioritization against outcome hypotheses rather than feature requests. You think in business impact and customer behavior change

  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority, and navigating conflicting priorities across engineering, design, sales, and customer success

  • Excellent communication. You can explain commercial insurance nuance to engineers, product tradeoffs to brokers, and priorities to any audience

  • A bias toward action and comfort deciding with imperfect information

  • Fluency with AI-first prototyping tools such as Replit, Lovable, Make, and Claude Code for rapid solution exploration and validation

Bonus points if you have:
  • Direct experience at a commercial lines carrier, MGA, wholesale broker, or insurtech serving the commercial market

  • Hands-on time with broker management systems (Applied Epic, AMS360, Hawksoft), including how commercial policy data differs from personal lines in structure and storage

  • Understanding of ACORD standards and commercial data exchange, from ACORD forms to certificate issuance and carrier submission workflows

  • A past move of an existing platform into a new market segment, such as SMB to enterprise, personal to commercial, or single market to multi-market

  • Time at high-growth, venture-backed companies, balancing speed to market against domain complexity

Our guiding principles:
  • Customers at the core. We put the customer at the center of all we do. At a basic level, we believe business success comes down to talking to customers and building something they want. We don't listen to customers and just take what they say blindly, but we think critically about it and build what they need. Customers are the core of everything we do, and our business exists to serve them. We prioritize their needs over all else within the company.

  • Move with urgency. There are times when we need to move slowly and deliberately, but we default to acting fast and with urgency. We slow down when necessary, but this should be a deliberate choice. Businesses become more lethargic as they grow, this principle is designed to fight this fact.

  • Be curious. We understand the world by being curious and asking why. We aren't satisfied with surface level understanding, and seek a deeper understanding of why things are the way they are. Don't take someone's word for it or the answer “because that’s how we do it.” Understand why and dig deep.

  • Excellence in execution. We know that what separates good from great is a high level of execution. We commit ourselves to excellence in everything that we do, from delivering an amazing product to writing a great email.

  • Act like an owner. We’re all owners of the business and act like it. We follow through on commitments, own our results and think long-term.

  • Fight for simplicity. The law of increasing functional information states that systems evolve to become more complex over time. At Quandri, we believe there is sophistication in simplicity; as such, we intentionally fight for streamlined solutions and are committed to the uncomplicated.

  • AI-first. We believe AI is a fundamental shift in how work gets done, not just a tool we occasionally reach for. At Quandri, we lead with AI, in how we build our product, how we run our operations, and how we think about every process and workflow. This isn't about replacing people; it's about unlocking them to do higher-value work.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • The range for base pay is $150k - $200k CAD, dependent on level of experience, performance and choice of stock option compensation. US-based candidates will receive location-adjusted compensation.

  • Employee stock options reflecting a senior-level role

  • Comprehensive health benefits, including Lifestyle Spending Account

  • Four weeks of paid vacation per year

  • Work anywhere in the world for 60 days of the year

  • Parental leave top-ups: 6 months for birthing parents, 8 weeks for non-birthing parents (up to $100,000 annual salary)

  • Enhanced mental health benefits through Dialogue, providing unlimited access to mental health practitioners at no cost
