Location: REMOTE / Toronto, Ontario. This job allows you to work remotely.
We are looking for a Product Manager who can own one of our most active and strategically important product areas: the Shopify integration and broader e-commerce accounting workflows. This is a highly cross‑functional, hands‑on role that requires strong systems thinking, the ability to understand complex technical products, and the drive to lead a team through both stability work and new product development.
You will guide the product’s direction, manage its lifecycle, and work closely with engineering, customer success, design, and other teams to deliver a scalable, reliable, and forward‑looking experience for merchants.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Vision: Define the roadmap and long‑term direction for the Shopify integration and related financial workflows. Identify gaps, new opportunities, and areas requiring re‑architecture or stabilization. Ensure the product evolves in step with Shopify’s rapidly changing ecosystem, including new initiatives like Shopify B2B.
- Customer & Market Understanding: Develop deep knowledge of the e‑commerce accounting domain, merchant workflows, and operational challenges. Gather internal and external requirements, analyze customer feedback, and conduct market and competitive research. Act as the “voice of the customer,” ensuring decisions reflect real‑world use cases and pain points.
- Feature Prioritization & Development: Scope, prioritize, and sequence work based on customer impact, product health, and business goals. Partner closely with engineering to understand how complex systems fit together and extend them safely. Balance short‑term fixes, scaling work, and net‑new feature development.
- Execution & Delivery: Lead cross‑functional coordination from concept to launch, ensuring alignment across engineering, CS, and finance/accounting stakeholders. Support release planning, customer communication, and beta programs for new features or architectural changes.
- Documentation & Quality: Create product specs, release notes, and internal documentation. Perform validation and acceptance testing to ensure accuracy, quality, and product integrity.
- Performance Analysis: Define and track key metrics to understand product health, scalability, performance, and user satisfaction. Use data to guide decisions, validate outcomes, and drive continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Communication: Clearly communicate product direction, decisions, risks, and progress. Drive alignment with internal teams and maintain transparency as priorities shift or new information emerges.
