Your Opportunity

The Senior Product Coordinator, Digital Experience drives the priorities and continuous evolution of key digital products that serve learners, employees, and the institution. This role identifies opportunities for improvement, builds the case for change, and takes ownership of product vision, roadmap development, backlog management, and prioritization. This isn't a support role — it's an ownership role, accountable for guiding initiatives from concept through to implementation and ensuring digital products deliver meaningful, measurable outcomes. Reporting to the Associate Director, Digital Experience, the Senior Product Coordinator sits at the intersection of business, technology, and user experience — translating complex organizational needs into clear roadmaps, aligning cross‑functional teams around shared priorities, and ensuring every product decision connects back to institutional objectives and real value for the people the College serves.

Functions and Duties
  • Lead and evolve the digital experience vision for learners and staff — ensuring it directly supports Okanagan College's digital strategy and delivers measurable outcomes.
  • Champion user‑centered thinking across every product decision, from discovery through delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Leverage analytics, user feedback, and service insights to validate priorities, measure performance, and drive ongoing optimization.
  • Ensure solutions are accessible, intuitive, and built around the real needs of the people who use them every day.
  • Lead the product lifecycle from discovery through delivery, adoption, and continuous improvement, with accountability for user experience and business impact.
  • Identify and prioritize initiatives across products and platforms, translating complex business and user needs into a clear, outcome‑driven roadmap.
  • Develop forward‑looking plans for how systems, integrations, and platforms need to evolve — building a cohesive, scalable, and future‑ready digital environment.
  • Lead the full product lifecycle: discovery, delivery, adoption, and continuous improvement — with accountability for both user experience and business impact.
  • Work closely with the AI & Automations Development Team Lead to ensure product priorities and technical feasibility are always in sync.
  • Lead backlog management, sprint planning, acceptance criteria, retrospectives, and release coordination to keep delivery consistent and efficient.
  • Coordinate across technical, design, and operational teams to ship high‑quality, user‑centered solutions — balancing speed, quality, and value.
  • Support change management and release readiness to ensure solutions land well, get adopted, and deliver their intended impact.
  • Identify opportunities to automate workflows, simplify processes, and reduce friction across institutional digital services.
  • Stay curious about emerging digital trends, tools, and capabilities — and bring relevant insights back into product planning.
  • Explore how AI‑enabled services, automation, and modern platforms can meaningfully improve learner and staff experiences.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of new technologies, platforms, and approaches that could advance the College's digital strategy.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships across academic, administrative, and technical teams — creating shared understanding and alignment on priorities.
  • Communicate product vision, priorities, decisions, and outcomes clearly and consistently to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Provide transparency into product direction and trade‑offs, enabling informed decision‑making across the organization.
Education and Experience
  • A four‑year degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline — plus at least 4 years of hands‑on experience in digital product ownership, business transformation, business analysis, or technical project delivery in Agile environments. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated experience configuring and supporting enterprise digital platforms, contributing to process improvement or automation initiatives, and leading discovery, user research, and UAT activities.
  • Strong Agile fundamentals — sprint planning, backlog refinement, iterative delivery, and retrospectives.
  • The ability to turn user feedback, analytics, and service insights into clear requirements, confident priorities, and well‑communicated product decisions.
  • Experience with wireframes, prototypes, and user flows; a solid grasp of UX principles and accessibility standards; and comfort with analytics tools like Power BI or Excel.
  • A natural communicator who can bridge technical and non‑technical audiences, and a sharp, organized thinker who stays calm when priorities compete.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or a similar designation is considered an asset.

  • Students first: Creating meaningful life‑long educational opportunities of the highest quality for alumni, current, and future students is at the heart of everything we do.
