Job summary

Magic Circle Workshop, a full-scale production studio, seeks a Senior Broadcast Producer in Toronto to lead multi-platform productions for top brands. You’ll drive end-to-end strategy, budgeting, and partner collaboration from brief to delivery.

You will work closely with creative and business leads, mentor junior staff, and ensure efficient processes. Hybrid role with in-office presence required, and a strong network in the market.

Qualifications

• Background in a creative agency or production environment.
• Extensive live action video production across broadcast and digital.
• Strong post-production knowledge with editors, motion designers, etc.
• Understanding of ACTRA/UDA local union mandates.
• Experience managing multiple large-scale broadcast productions.
• Strong network in local and international markets.
• Experience negotiating production contracts and licenses.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to lead, collaborate and mentor.
• Toronto-based with flexibility for extended hours.

Transparency matters to us. For this role, you can expect a salary between $78,000-110,000 annually, depending on experience. This is for an existing vacancy.

As a Senior Broadcast Producer, you will report to the Director of Video & Broadcast Production and work closely with our creative and business leads across the network, acting as an expert in the room on all things production.

What You Will Do.

• Lead productions across multiple platforms (broadcast, digital & social), bringing expertise, experience and innovative thinking to some of the world's leading brands.
• Be the production expert in the room from briefing through delivery by bringing innovative ideas and flair and partnering closely with internal teams.
• Advise on production approaches, including outlining budget parameters, unseen opportunities and production partners to execute on the creative.
• Be creative minded, excited by the opportunity to produce groundbreaking work in new and inventive ways
• Be client facing and confidently work closely with client teams throughout the production process.
• Entrepreneurial minded, continually looking for opportunities for process optimization, working closely with the Director of Production to find efficiencies across productions.
• Be detail-oriented and meticulous with all logistical and financial aspects of production including project management, scoping, timelines, contract negotiations, cost tracking and reconciliations on budgets ranging from $100k-1M+ confidently.
• Have an extensive black book of contacts, both locally and globally, with experience working in different markets.
• Passionate about production, innovative creative opportunities, new technologies and best-in-class work.
• Mentor and foster growth within the production department

What You’ll Bring To The Table.

• A background in a creative agency role, with non-traditional agency experience (experiential, production company, social) advantageous.
• Extensive live action video production experience across broadcast, digital & social - experience in experiential, print and other integrated mediums advantageous.
• Strong post-production knowledge, with experience working directly with editors, motion designers, animators, colourists and more.
• Strong understanding of local union mandates like ACTRA / UDA.
• Experience in managing multiple projects on large scale broadcast productions.
• Deep understanding of the local production industry, as well as experience and existing relationships in other markets.
• Experience in negotiating vendor contracts including production agreements, music licensing and talent contracts.
• Superb organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to lead, collaborate and be a valued and respected member of the team.
• Experience mentoring junior roles, formal management experience is a plus.
• Toronto-based with flexibility to work extended hours and/or weekends to meet project deadlines (when absolutely necessary).
• Hybrid role, in office a minimum of twice per week.
