Job summary

Apex Group Ltd in Canada seeks a Manager – Fund Accounting Private Equity (VP level) to lead client-service teams and act as an extension of the client’s finance organization. You will handle fund accounting, investor reporting, and audits with senior stakeholder interaction.

You will oversee portfolio accounting, waterfall analyses, and complex investment structures, while coordinating tax and regulatory reporting. A CPA is preferred and Private Equity experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance required.
• 6–10 years of professional experience (private equity or similar); hedge funds not counted.
• Minimum 3–6 years direct private equity experience.
• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fund accounting work papers: activity, fees, IRR, waterfall.
• Review fund reimbursable expenses and capital calls/distributions.
• Prepare financial statements with footnotes and schedules.
• Coordinate audits (SSAE16 and fund audits) and tax reporting support.
• Respond to investor/partner queries (IRR, cash flow).
• Track portfolio transactions and complex investment structures.
