AMC Consultants is seeking a Senior/Principal Backfill Engineer to join the Geotechnical team in Canada. You will deliver chargeable consulting work, lead projects when required, and actively market AMC’s backfill services to mining clients.

You will leverage extensive backfill experience to manage technical assignments, mentor junior staff, and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring high safety and quality standards across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mining/Geotechnical Engineering.
• 10–15 years in the mining industry with backfilling experience.
• Experience on backfill projects and backfill systems.
• Ability to work independently and market services.
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilités

Position: Senior / Principal Backfill Engineer

Location: Canada

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior/Principal Backfill Engineer to join our Geotechnical team, with opportunities to be based in Canada.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering technical assignments with minimal supervision, integrating within the project team while taking responsibility for your discipline. You will work under the guidance of a Project Manager, or stepping into the Project Manager role when required. You will also play a key part in managing and mitigating AMC’s risk exposure while actively promoting AMC’s services.

Leveraging your extensive experience and industry networks, you will proactively market AMC’s services and deliver chargeable consulting work.

Salary

C$130,000 – $200,000, the salary will be based on your overall experiences and qualifications.

Qualifications And Experience

• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Mining or Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum ~10-15 year s’ experience in the mining industry with a broad experience of backfilling methods. Also required is experience undertaking backfill projects and/or operation of backfill systems.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage projects, and market services.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• High ethical standards, professionalism, and alignment with AMC values.
