Job summary

Ledcor Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Superintendent to guide project staff and ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly. You will oversee safety, quality, scheduling, and coordination with contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include staffing, safety compliance, schedule maintenance, and cost control, with a focus on long-term partnerships and effective stakeholder management. Site-based role with potential rotation and travel allowances.

Qualifications

• Certified Journeyperson Powerline Technician.
• 15+ years of powerline construction experience and 5+ years as a superintendent.
• Combination of work experience in a similar role and industry related trade certification/education.
• Experience on industrial / oil & gas, or mining projects and asset.
• Understanding of industrial documents and the ability to ensure they are complete, protect the owner’s interest, clearly define expectations and provide incentive to perform.
• Knowledge of construction costs and budgets.
• Strong safety record and the ability to work with a variety of individuals.
• Ability to plan and manage a project schedule.
• Able to focus on developing long term partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure our contributions to their continuing success.
• Influence client and/or organizational leadership to accomplish operational objectives.
• Anticipate problems or challenges, propose innovative solutions, and ensure solutions are consistent with project objectives.

Responsibilities

• Hire and manage hourly employees as required to complete the project in consultation with the Project Manager.
• Ensure that site safety measures meet or exceed the parameters set out by corporate safety manual, Workers’ Compensation Board or any other authorities.
• Ensure that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, applicable building codes, and that efficiency in labour and materials maintain high quality standards.
• Review, maintain and update the construction schedule and ensure milestone and completion dates are met.
• Plan and execute system completion and system turnover.
• Maintain, approve, and submit hourly digital timesheets with all necessary details for job costing and reporting purposes.
• Prepare field change orders to be signed by project owner or representative when requested.
• Review subtrade/supplier invoices against the field purchase orders and report any discrepancies to the Project Manager or the accounting department.
• Manage the safety and performance of subtrade work.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
