Job summary

WSP Canada is seeking an experienced Planning Lead to guide land development initiatives in Calgary and Western Canada. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to influence local growth, support regulatory processes, and deliver integrated planning solutions for private-sector projects.

The role emphasizes stakeholder engagement, policy analysis, and strong client relationships with a focus on long-term community impact.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive professional planning experience focused on land development and private-sector projects.
• Strong knowledge of municipal planning legislation, processes, statutory plans and policy frameworks.
• Experience managing development permits, subdivisions, land use redesignation and approvals.
• Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships within the development industry.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and balancing priorities in a consulting setting.
• Excellent written, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) is a strong asset.
• CIP and/or APPI membership or eligibility is considered a plus.

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $104,100 - $138,000

MB & ON: $95,000 - $130,800

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $94,100 - $124,900
