Qualifications

Contributes to the overall success of the Business Banking Technology Unit in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
We are looking for someone who will work closely with customers, Business Analysts, and Production support team members to understand business needs and requirements to drive the analysis, design and construction of quality technical solutions.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
• Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
• Create and maintain software documentation
• Collaborate with the Scrum team to plan milestones, successfully execute software delivery, and escalate issues as needed
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
• Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

• Have deep knowledge and experience with Pega Cloud framework
• Knowledge and experience with modern JS framework (JS Node and React)
• Have experience working with authenticated, customer focused software
• Have experience with web applications
• Have built software for customers and employees
• Exposure to Agent, CRM, Decisioning, Robotics, or another strategic Pega application (Pega Frameworks).
• Knowledge of Cloud Foundry, Spring MVC framework, Git, SVN and Bitbucket
• Minimum 5 years experience in the Finance or related industry with knowledge of project delivery frameworks including: Agile, Waterfall and Scrum
• Bachelor or master’s degree in computer science/Engineering, Information Systems, or other related field (or equivalent work experience)
• You stay up to date with industry best practice
• Excellent communication skills with ability to influence decision making across stakeholders
• Effective organization, planning, problem solving, trouble shooting and time management skills
