Job summary

Coractive seeks an experienced Optical Fiber Scientist to lead advanced fiber design, simulation, and development from concept through prototype and transfer. You will model, optimize and validate novel specialty fibers while coordinating teams in fabrication, characterization, and process development.

The role requires PhD in a related field, 5+ years of R&D experience, and strong English communication for cross-border collaboration with clients and partners. Travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• PhD in optical engineering or related field with strong research background.
• Experience leading design, simulation and development in optics/photonics.
• Excellent communication skills in English and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize state-of-the-art specialty optical fibers for diverse applications.
• Perform numerical modeling and simulation of fiber structures and light propagation.
• Conduct tests on fiber production equipment and characterize fibers.
• Analyze attenuation, dispersion, birefringence, mode-field distribution, nonlinear effects and polarization.
• Lead development of novel fiber architectures and translate simulations to designs.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across fabrication, characterization, and process development.
