Job summary

NBCUniversal seeks a Senior Multiplayer Programmer to design, implement, and optimize the networked systems powering large-scale multiplayer games. You will own architecture and performance of the game’s online subsystems, collaborating with gameplay, backend, and engine teams.

You will mentor junior programmers and stay current with networking technologies to drive improvements across platforms.

Qualifications

Significant experience with AAA multiplayer games or large-scale networked systems.
Strong C++ skills, including high-performance programming, multithreading and memory management.
Deep understanding of low-level networking concepts and high-level multiplayer systems.
Ability to profile, debug, and optimize networked gameplay.
Strong communication skills for working with gameplay, engine, and backend teams.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain network systems that support real-time multiplayer gameplay.
Integrate network functionality into the game engine with cross-team collaboration.
Optimize network performance for low latency and efficient bandwidth usage across platforms.
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues during development and after launch.
Contribute to the replication ecosystem and ensure systems meet project goals.
Collaborate with engineers to integrate multiplayer features into gameplay systems.
Mentor junior and intermediate programmers.
Stay current with networking technologies and propose improvements.
