Job summary

Myticas Consulting is seeking an experienced Network Service Engineer to support design, implementation, and optimization of customer network services in Ottawa. You will help ensure scalable, reliable, and high-performing network infrastructure aligned with business goals.

The role focuses on Layer 2/3 design, protocol mastery (IPv4/IPv6, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS), and coordinating with Operations, Product, and Sales Engineering teams to deliver robust network solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in carrier and customer network design, operations, deployment and support.
• Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols (IPv4, IPv6, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS).
• Experience with network test devices and reporting tools (Ixia, Spirent).
• Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible).
• Ability to mentor engineers and customer-facing resources.

Responsibilities

• Design and support Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing and switching solutions to optimize resources.
• Translate business needs into practical network designs with cross-functional teams.
• Develop strategies for partner units to implement and manage network service architectures.
• Represent Network Engineering in product change requests and assess impacts.
• Plan and evolve customer network architecture with focus on Layer 2 transparent networking.
