Job summary

Rogers Communications, Inc. in Brampton, ON seeks a Senior Network Designer with deep expertise in wireless core technologies and cloud-native architectures to lead design, testing, deployment, and optimization of CNF/VNF platforms.

You will act as a technical SME for Wireless Data Policy, DPI, Subscriber Profiles, and API Gateways, deploying next-generation network functions using Docker, Kubernetes, and virtualization. On-site collaboration with cross-functional teams is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, integration, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and evolution of cloud-native network functions.
  • Serve as technical SME for Wireless Data Policy, DPI, Subscriber Profile Data Repositories and API Gateways.
  • Design and deploy next-generation network functions using Docker, Kubernetes, virtualization and cloud tech.
  • Automate engineering workflows and manage CNF/VNF platform lifecycles.
  • Perform end-to-end testing, validation, and KPI reporting.
  • Develop lab environments to validate changes and run capacity/bottleneck simulations.
  • Create engineering documentation: design specs, ATPs, MOPs, and work orders.
  • Assess requirements, evaluate designs, and provide engineering recommendations for new services.
  • Collaborate with PM, Operations, Tech Development, Product, IT and Engineering teams.
  • Partner with vendors on design, testing, roadmaps, and scopes of work.
  • Provide advanced operational support and technical leadership across network services.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Network Designer ,Wireless Network and Cloud Engineering professional who is passionate about designing and evolving next-generation cloud-native network platforms. You are a technical SME with deep expertise in wireless core technologies, subscriber data platforms, network policy management, and cloud-native architectures. You thrive in complex environments, enjoy solving challenging technical problems, and can collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, vendors, and business teams.

What You Will Do

Lead the design, integration, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and evolution of cloud-native network functions and subscriber data platforms.

Serve as the technical subject matter expert for Wireless Data Policy, Deep Packet Inspection (DPI), Subscriber Profile Data Repositories, AAA, API Gateways, and cloud-native network solutions.

Design and deploy next-generation network functions leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, virtualization, and cloud technologies.

Automate engineering workflows and manage the lifecycle of CNF and VNF platforms.

Perform end-to-end testing, validation, troubleshooting, KPI reporting, and performance analysis.

Build and maintain laboratory environments to validate network changes and conduct capacity, bottleneck, and what-if simulations.

Develop engineering documentation including Design Specifications, Acceptance Test Plans (ATPs), Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and implementation work orders.

Evaluate technical requirements, assess solution designs, and provide engineering recommendations for new services and technologies.

Partner closely with Project Management, Operations, Technology Development, Product teams, IT, and Engineering groups to ensure successful service integration and deployment.

Collaborate with vendors on solution design, testing, platform evolution, quotes, scopes of work, and technical roadmaps.

Provide advanced operational support, technical leadership, and troubleshooting expertise across critical network services.
