Job summary

Intact Financial Corporation in Canada is seeking a Network & Security professional to evolve, support, and govern our worldwide network and security. You will focus on automation, performance, and stability of infrastructure with opportunities to work with future technologies.

The role requires 5 years in an IP-based environment, a Networking/Tech degree, and bilingualism for Quebec. A hybrid work model and comprehensive benefits are offered; compensation includes an annual bonus and Employee

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Networking or Technology.
  • 5 years of IP-based experience.
  • Hands-on experience with network hardware, software, LAN/WAN and data center infrastructures.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, including BGP, EIGRP, MPLS.
  • Bilingual in Quebec or able to interact with English-speaking colleagues across Canada.
  • Eligible to work in Canada (no sponsorship).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate to ensure smooth operation of network infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with vendors to resolve network issues.
  • Assess vulnerabilities and implement vendor-recommended solutions.
  • Provide high-quality internal and external service aligned with company values.
  • Implement and support LAN, WAN, switching/routing, load balancing in data center infra.
  • Ensure network patterns meet SLA requirements and participate in change management.
  • Monitor performance and optimize systems.
  • Document networks and contacts; maintain monitoring tools.
  • Collaborate to develop standards and participate in problem management.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for 24x7x365 coverage.

Salary range (but not limited to):

101,800 - 124,400

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

What you'll do here:
  • Collaborating with peers to assure smooth operation of the network infrastructure
  • Coordinating with vendors to resolve technical problems with network equipment and software.
  • Assess and address vulnerabilities regarding network equipment with vendor recommended solutions
  • Provide high quality internal and external customer service surrounding the company values.
  • Implement and support of LAN, WAN, Switching/Routing, load balancing data center infrastructure including Cisco ACI, Netscaler load balancer.
  • Ensures all network infrastructure engineering patterns are appropriately designed to meet our SLA requirements.
  • Responsible for writing and reviewing change request as a part of the change management process.
  • Monitor system performance and implement performance optimization.
  • Participation in the documentation processes including network diagrams, staff contacts, vendor contacts, utilization of monitoring/resource/inventory management tools.
  • Collaborates with managers to develop standards in line with the company guidelines and monitoring those standards.
  • Assisting with the resolution of escalated issues and actively participating in problem management activities.
  • As a member of the network & security operations team participate in an on‑call support rotation to ensure 24x7x365 coverage for critical core and customer infrastructure.
  • Overtime in the event of emergencies is required.
What you bring to the table:
  • Degree or Diploma in Networking or Technology.
  • 5 year experience in IP‑based environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with network hardware, software, LAN/WAN and data center infrastructures and connectivity.
  • Good understanding of the TCP/IP protocol, specifically relating to the routing of IP packets (BGP, EIGRP, MPLS).
  • Medium level knowledge of network administration, architecture, and engineering in mission critical environments.
  • For candidateslocatedin Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
