You will be reporting to the Regional Manager of the West. Your expertise will contribute to our goal of making Manulife Bank competitive in the industry by providing the best service in the industry.

Position Responsibilities
  • Subject matter expert, providing back up support to leaders in providing guidance to underwriters and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to support strategic initiatives, process improvements, and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Participate in training initiatives and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team
  • Established good interpersonal relationships and handle tough negotiations with internal stakeholders
  • Evaluate complex financial structures including investment income, corporate holdings, and trust arrangements.
  • Provide customized underwriting solutions that align with the unique needs of affluent clients.
  • Cover national UW needs based on volumes.
  • Review documents submitted by sales partners to identify and decide whether documents adhere to internal guidelines.
  • Ensure files are properly documented for reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills with our sales partners.
  • Track record of processing a high volume of files with attention to detail.
  • Manage the underwriting of residential mortgage applications. Exercise sound financial judgment in granting loans within delegated limits.
  • Manage mortgage files with exceptional communication while working closely with the salesperson associated with the file.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in mortgage underwriting.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A goal‑oriented individual motivated to achieve performance goals.
  • Strong customer service and decision‑making skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and handle several tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of Manulife banking systems.
  • Identify and solve issues requiring a high degree of judgment and recommend solutions.
  • Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.

Salary range is expected to be between

$57,675.00 CAD - $96,125.00 CAD
