RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for ongoing technical support and continuous improvement of existing and new moulding equipment, for the injection moulding machine and all auxiliary pieces of equipment.
- Support the design and launch of all new programs, developing processes and delivering developed processes to moulding team for assessment, and following through to full part and process validation.
- Report on project status (A3 format) for all scrap reductions and cycle time saving.
- Involvement with a cross functional team to develop and maintain PFMEA’s and control plans.
- Implement and maintain error proofing and detection on equipment to protect customers from exposure to issues that would compromise the finished product.
- Audit and locate opportunities for continuous improvement on moulding baseline parameters, general machine and process performance.
- Ensure that all process baseline parameters are followed by auditing daily.
- Provide technical support of the processes and equipment in Moulding departments to minimize/prevent recurring downtime issues.
- Ensure that root cause is determined for moulded part quality issues.
- Focus on and drive the mindset of continuous improvement throughout the department.
- Ensure that all equipment and process capacities are being maximized to achieve performance and give direction in this area as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 diploma, or equivalent preferred
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Related experience as a process/coating or moulding technical position, or College Technical Education Diploma in Engineering preferred.
- Prior experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is an asset.

- Demonstrated ability in operation of any injection moulding machine and robot, as well as all auxiliary equipment that pertains to the moulding department.
- Demonstrated understanding of the injection moulding process, with examples of experience to support full comprehension of the process.

- Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, ability to initiate and follow tasks through to completion.
- Experience in reading/comprehension of 3D CAD and machine, or part related drawings.
- Proven track record for performance and attendance in existing position.
- Understand, or ability to learn APQP process.
- Ability to work with numbers with a high degree of accuracy.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Standing/walking/climbing/kneeling on a regular basis.
- Ability to efficiently move around on the production floor.
- Ability to bend, twist, lift and reach.
- Ability to work at a computer workstation and learn to operate basic spreadsheets in Excel.
- Ability to work shift work including overtime, as required.
- Ability to lift maximum 50lbs periodically.
