Job summary

Epic Games is seeking a skilled applied research programmer to develop production-ready ML models for bots and agents in real-time game environments. You’ll work at the intersection of computer vision, NLP, and ML to power intelligent NPCs and automation of moderation, security, and QA testing.

You will design, implement, and deploy scalable ML systems, collaborating across teams within a creative engine ecosystem, contributing to Epic’s cutting-edge tools and gameplay experiences.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field or 3+ years of industry experience.
• Experience applying ML algorithms for action modeling of bots and deploying them in-game.
• Strong knowledge of deep learning, vision-language-action models, and reinforcement learning.

Responsibilities

• Create and deliver production-ready, scalable ML models and algorithms for actions in game environments.
• Assess effectiveness of models and influence roadmap.
• Support data collection and creation of new data channels for model training.
