Job summary

Mining Plus in Canada is seeking a Senior Mining Consultant to lead a diversified engineering team on open-pit projects. You will provide premium consulting services, applying your mining engineering expertise to advise clients across metal commodities and work with our international team on global projects.

You will have opportunities to develop as a technical leader, drive scoping, planning, and economics modelling, and deliver practical, safe, and efficient mining solutions for clients.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of mining-technical experience.
• 5+ years of relevant operational mining experience.
• Proficient in mine design and planning software (Deswik/Hexagon).
• P.Eng or equivalent professional registration is required.
• Experience contributing to NI 43-101 reports.
• Ability to manage projects and teams.
• Interest in leading business development initiatives.
• Strong technical and project management skills.
• Commitment to safety and best practices.
• Excellent communication and proposal writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing technical oversight in mining studies (scoping to feasibility).
• Conduct mine asset due diligence and evaluations.
• Lead mine planning, optimization, and mining economics modelling.
• Oversee mine design activities and manage subcontractors.
• Prepare and review NI 43-101 reports and technical docs.

Who are you?

Mining Plus has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mining professional with demonstrated expertise in open-pit projects, to lead a diversified engineering team in Canada. As a Senior Mining Consultant, you are responsible for providing premium consulting services to our clients. You will apply your expert Mining Engineering experience to provide recommendations to Mining Plus clients and projects across a variety of metal commodities. You will have the opportunity to work with our international team of technical experts on servicing projects globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing technical oversight and engagement in mining studies (Scoping, Pre-feasibility & Feasibility)


• Conduct mine asset due diligence and evaluations


• Conduct mine planning, optimization projects, and mine economics modelling


• Lead Mine Design and planning activities, including management of partner groups and sub-contractors


• Write and review technical engineering Reports (NI 43-101 or equivalent)


• Oversight of technical documents, and delivery of projects including design, review, and project management according to client-approved scopes of work


• Be a champion for practical mining solutions for projects and operations, leveraging our existing foundation of global best practices.


• Actively leverage and advocate for industry-leading technology and support implementation engagements (collaboration with our partner groups)


• Manage contractors and sub-consultants on projects (as required)

Skills/Qualifications

• 10+ years of mining-technical experience


• 5+ years of relevant operational mining experience required


• Must be able to use Mine Planning software competently (Deswik or Hexagon MinePlan 3D preferred)


• Must be P.Eng. (Or Equivalent)


• Experience contributing to NI 43-101


• Ability to project manage


• Desire to lead business development activities


• Strong technical and project management skills


• Excellent workplace safety practices (advocate for global best practices)


• Practically minded and a passion for technical excellence


• Exceptional communication, report writing, interpersonal and presentation skills


• Superior time management, planning, and ability to interact with clients


• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience in writing proposals, technical reports and general project correspondence
