Qualifications

The Position

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Technologist to join their team in Edmonton.

You will have 8-10 years of experience and a strong background in HVAC and mechanical building systems design. This role involves working on a wide variety of building-related projects from concept to completion while collaborating with clients, architects, contractors, and internal team members. Candidates with either a P.Eng or CET designation will be considered!

What You'll Do

Mechanical Design

• Perform mechanical system design (HVAC and Plumbing).
• Perform design calculations as required, including heat loss, heat gain, and flow calculations.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and regulations.
• Learn and follow company design and drawing standards.
• Work independently or within a team environment to complete projects.
• Ensure projects are completed within established schedules and budgets while maintaining high quality standards.

Construction Administration

• Attend meetings with clients, architects, and trades.
• Prepare site instructions and change orders.
• Review shop drawings.
• Perform site reviews as required.

Mentorship & Team Collaboration

• Provide mentorship and guidance to new and junior employees.
• Contribute positively to a collaborative team environment.
• Maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and clients.
