Job summary

INVIRO is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to advance our growing team in Gloucester, Ontario. This full-time, on-site role focuses on designing mechanical systems and leading projects from design through construction.

You will prepare load calculations, develop schematics, select equipment, and ensure ASHRAE and LEED compliance where applicable, while coordinating with clients and other consultants to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is an asset.
• Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng) required.
• 6+ years of experience in mechanical engineering for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings.
• Strong background knowledge in building design with HVAC/Plumbing/Fire Protection.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the design and complete load calculations, schematics, equipment selection and system concept report.
• Prepare the contract documents including the specifications.
• Evaluate shop drawing reviews.
• Manage projects from design through construction; ensure ASHRAE and LEED compliance where applicable.
• Direct, review, and approve project design changes.
• Engage in meetings with clients, contractors, and other consultants regarding project reports and findings.
• Provide expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems.
