TC Energy in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a Materials Engineer to develop and implement strategies for pipeline materials to meet design requirements and specifications. You will collaborate across Quality, Supply Chain, Projects and Engineering, evaluate suppliers, conduct audits, and support ongoing research and standards development. A P.Eng.

and NA travel are required. This role offers a hybrid work model in Canada, the U.S.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree.
• Registered, or eligible to register, with APEGA as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
• Ability to work and travel in North America and to manufacturing locations overseas.
• Proven knowledge of natural gas pipelines and applicable codes and standards (CSA Z662, CSA Z245.xx, ASME B31, API 5L, API 6D).
• 6+ years of experience in materials evaluation, supplier evaluation, audit and inspection.

• Collaborate with Quality, Supply Chain, Projects and other Engineering teams to ensure material quality.
• Identify and select appropriate materials based on project requirements, ensuring quality, cost and performance standards.
• Evaluate and manage supplier capabilities to meet required quality standards.
• Implement engineering QC processes and perform site inspections/audits as needed.
• Provide technical support, troubleshoot material-related issues, perform RCAs and recommend solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of material reviews, test results and QC processes.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance material quality and efficiency.
• Provide oversight to projects ensuring designs are fit-for-purpose and compliant with regs and standards.
• Serve as Technical Lead to assigned teams or initiatives.
• Provide review oversight, coaching and mentorship to junior team members.
