The Role

Presidio Senior Marketing Director serve as a strategic partner and operational force multiplier to our Chief Marketing Officer. This unique role combines chief of staff responsibilities with strategic program leadership requiring a dynamic professional who can navigate between high-level strategic initiatives and hands‑on execution. This position will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

Responsibilities include :
  • Serve as strategic advisor and trusted partner to the CMO on key initiatives and decisions
  • Manage CMOs strategic priorities ensuring alignment and execution across the marketing organization
  • Facilitate internal communications on behalf of the CMO including leadership updates and organizational announcements
  • Act as liaison between the CMO and cross‑functional stakeholders across the organization
Strategic Sports Sponsorships
  • Lead strategy activation and ROI optimization for premier sports partnerships including NHL Charlotte Hornets and other major sports properties
  • Develop integrated marketing programs that maximize brand visibility and engagement through sponsorship assets
  • Build relationships with league officials team executives and agency partners
  • Measure and report on sponsorship effectiveness and business impact
Marketing Operations & Rhythm of Business
  • Plan and execute Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) for the marketing organization
  • Design and facilitate monthly Marketing All Hands meetings that drive engagement alignment and culture
  • Establish and maintain marketing team operating rhythms ensuring consistent communication and collaboration
  • Track key marketing initiatives and ensure accountability for deliverables
Team Development & Culture
  • Lead team‑building initiatives that strengthen collaboration and morale across marketing
  • Partner with CMO on organizational design and talent development strategies
  • Foster an inclusive high‑performance culture within the marketing organization
AI Adoption & Capability Building
  • Drive AI adoption strategy across the marketing function identifying high‑impact use cases
  • Design and deliver training programs to upskill marketing team members on AI tools and applications
  • Stay current on emerging AI technologies and assess relevance for marketing operations
  • Champion a culture of innovation and continuous learning around marketing technology
Required Skills and Professional Experience
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience and / or military experience
  • 10 years of progressive marketing experience with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles
  • Proven track record managing strategic sponsorships preferably in professional sports
  • Experience in chief of staff or similar strategic operations role supporting C‑level executives
  • Demonstrated success planning and executing large‑scale programs events and communications
  • Strong business acumen with ability to translate strategy into operational execution
  • Excellent executive communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience with AI technologies and marketing automation platform
Preferred Skills and Professional Experience :
  • MBA or advanced degree
  • Background working with NHL NBA or other major sports properties
  • Experience leading organizational change and transformation initiatives
  • Familiarity with marketing analytics and performance measurement
  • Previous experience building and scaling marketing operations functions
