Job summary

Triton Advisory Services in Montreal, Canada, seeks a Transaction Advisory Senior Associate to lead financial due diligence, modeling, and M&A support across multiple clients. You will contribute to client pitches, prepare CIMs and valuation analyses, and work within a collaborative, high-performance team in a hybrid setting.

The role requires 4+ years in relevant finance work, strong Excel/PowerPoint/Word skills, and the ability to travel, including crossing into the USA for assignments.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience with at least 1 year in financial due diligence, corporate finance, investment banking, or corporate development.
  • Strong computer literacy with emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint and Word presentation skills.
  • Very strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple mandates.
  • Ensure quality of client deliverables by having a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prepare integrated financial models and valuation analysis.
  • Ability to travel; candidates must be able to enter the USA to work on client assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of client businesses and drivers, including historical performance and forecasts.
  • Assist in preparing and presenting marketing pitches and transaction materials.
  • Assist in preparing integrated financial models, due diligence workbooks, and quality of earnings reports.
  • Analyze and prepare working capital models.
  • Support discussions among buyers, sellers, and due diligence matters.
  • Assist in post-closing price adjustments and earn-outs.
  • Support the Business Advisory team with allocation and integration tasks.
  • Train less experienced staff; assist in business development initiatives.

Our Team

Our Corporate Finance and Transaction Advisory team consists of full-service transaction advisors (buy or sell) that advise clients through the entire M&A process – from assessment of strategic alternatives to the initial valuation, quality of earnings assessment, preparation of a financial model and confidential information memorandum (CIM), closing statements, and through closing – we assist both large multinationals and small private companies through some of their most important business and life decisions.

A day in the life of a Transaction Advisory Senior Associate:
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of client’s businesses, their drivers, including analysis of historical performance, working capital, capital expenditure, forecasts and underlying assumptions
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of marketing pitches to existing and potential clients, as well as transaction related material (i.e. information memorandum, teasers, buyers list)
  • Assist in the preparation of integrated financial models, due diligence workbooks, and quality of earning reports
  • Analysis and preparation of working capital models
  • Assist in discussions amongst various stakeholders (buyers, sellers) with regards to due diligence and business matters
  • Calculation of post-closing price adjustments, dispute notices, dispute resolution and earn-outs
  • Support the Business Advisory team with the purchase price allocation and separation / post-acquisition integration
  • Train less experienced staff
  • Assist in business development initiatives
What We Are Looking For
  • University degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience with at least 1 year in financial due diligence, corporate finance, investment banking, or corporate development
  • Strong computer literacy with emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint and Word presentation skills
  • Very strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple mandates
  • Ensure quality of client deliverables by having a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prepare integrated financial models, and valuation analysis
  • Ability to use research tools to extract relevant background material for business development and transaction support
  • Strong personal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment under time constraints
  • Ability to generate new business through the cultivation of existing relationships as well as the development of new relationships by various efforts
  • Ability to travel when necessary. Candidates must be able to enter the USA to work on client assignments.
  • Comprehensive financial and accounting skills
  • Bilingual (French and English is an asset)
  • Knowledge of Presentation Solution DatabookPro / Create is a plus.
