The Senior Manager contributes to the overall success of the Time & Attendance Technology globally, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities are compliant with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships.
- Provides highly specialized technical leadership in the analysis, design, development, and support of cost‑effective online HR management and decision support systems within Workforce Software.
- Resolves complex business problems, works under tight deadlines, conflicting priorities, and changing requirements, managing multiple small projects and participating in or managing specific sections of large projects.
- Implements Agile methodologies where applicable.
- Applies HR and technological knowledge to design methodologies, models, and/or system solutions, including research, analysis, process reengineering, and user liaison.
- Plans, schedules resources, develops detailed project plans, and monitors progress for HR technology projects.
- Interprets business requirements into system analysis, technical specifications, documentation, configuration of HR vendor software, and provides post‑implementation support.
- Reviews QA test strategies, ensures comprehensive testing, supports QA by analyzing defects, and resolves them.
- Acquires and enhances knowledge of division strategies, policies, risk management, products, financial markets, instruments, regulations, back‑office processes, and technology to provide effective solutions.
- Considers the Bank’s risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decisions.
- Ensures operations align with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, Global Sales Principles, and controls for AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
Qualifications
- 3‑5 years combined Business Analyst background including configuration lead experience.
- Working knowledge of HR business process.
- Creative, self‑starting, results‑oriented, highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills.
- Proven interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills to build consensus and obtain cooperation from users and senior management.
- Excellent time‑management and organisational skills enabling effective project management.
- Strong understanding of current IT practices—systems development techniques, requirements specification, testing methodologies, real‑time analytics, formal modelling tools.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline plus 4‑6 years of practical experience.
- Spanish speaking an asset.
