Job summary

A leading financial institution in Toronto is seeking an experienced communications professional to support Global Security. You will develop high-impact communications strategies, manage relationships with executives, and coordinate key internal events. Ideal candidates have over 7 years of related experience, strong critical thinking skills, and a background in executive-level communications. Job Description
What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Director, Strategic Enablement & Communications, this role offers an outstanding opportunity to harness your expertise in strategic enablement and internal communications to deliver high-impact results, drive business outcomes, and contribute to the overall success of RBC Global Security.

What will you do?
  • Drive the development and execution of communications for Global Security Executives, including but not limited to preparing high‑impact strategic presentations, crafting speaking notes, drafting internal messages, and creating technical updates to inform staff about important changes.
  • Manage and maintain collaborative relationships with Executives, senior management teams, communications partners, and RBC lines of business.
  • Plan and coordinate internal events such as Town Halls and All Hands Calls.
  • Develop and/or recommend effective communications strategies and brand best practices to engage a global audience, including developing and maintaining a centralized Global Security communications and brand hub.
  • Identify opportunities and mitigate potential communication risks to promote and protect our brand in alignment with Global Security, T&O and RBC Brand.
Must‑have
  • University degree in Communication and/or Journalism.
  • 7+ years of experience in a similar position, with strong experience supporting executive stakeholders.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize disparate information and integrate strategic components into cohesive storytelling.
  • A growth mindset, with a willingness to receive and act on feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Significant Executive‑level communications experience.
  • Significant Strategic communications experience.
  • Exceptional presentation development skills (e.g. Powerpoint).
Nice‑to‑have
  • Graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Professional Certification: CMP, SCMP.
  • Security & Risk Certifications: CRISC, CSSIP.
  • OCM Certification: Prosci, CCMP.
  • Banking/ financial services experience.
