Senior Manager, Secured Lending Mortgage Sales & Relationship Management - Tangerine

Reporting to the Director & Head of Secured Lending & Mortgages, the Senior Manager will lead a national team of Mortgage Solutions Managers and Mortgage Relationship Advisors, driving performance across new business acquisition and relationship management.
As a strategic leader, you will inspire high performance, foster accountability, and deliver exceptional client experiences.
What you will be doing
- Lead the secured lending portfolio growth strategy, focusing on acquisition, retention, pricing, and client segmentation.
- Drive national sales initiatives to achieve growth targets and enhance profitability.
- Leverage market insights and client feedback to evolve product offerings and go‑to‑market strategies.
- Sales Management & Coaching
- Lead and coach sales managers and a team of Mortgage Solution Managers and Mortgage Relationship Advisors.
- Instill disciplined sales management practices, including pipeline reviews, performance tracking, and skill development.
- Conduct regular coaching sessions, team meetings, and performance reviews to drive accountability & results.
- Develop and execute tactics to maximize franchise value and profitability.
- Establish financial objectives: funded mortgage volume, cross‑sell, key partner development, and productivity.
- Ensure operational effectiveness: risk, compliance, operational process.
- Client Experience & Relationship Management
- Champion a client‑first culture, ensuring seamless and personalized mortgage experiences.
- Strengthen referral partnerships and deepen client relationships to maximize lifetime value.
- Operational Excellence & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to Tangerine’s Code of Conduct, AML/ATF, privacy and compliance standards.
- Monitor operational effectiveness and implement process improvements to support scalable growth.
- Leadership & Culture Transformation
- Foster a high‑performance, inclusive culture focused on growth, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Lead change initiatives that energise the team and align with Tangerine’s strategic priorities.
- Reporting & Executive Communication
- Develop and maintain performance dashboards and executive‑level reporting.
- Provide clear insights into trends, opportunities and strategic initiatives.
Required skills and experience
- BA required, MBA an asset.
- 5+ years managing large teams.
- 7–10 years progressive experience in mortgage lending, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of driving significant sales growth and leading cultural transformation.
- Deep understanding of mortgage products, underwriting and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership and coaching capabilities focused on performance and development.
- Strategic thinker with a bias for action and results.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to thrive in an ultra‑fast paced environment and adapt to deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, synthesising complex information for broad audiences.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capacity.
- Experience winning business case approval and executing successful implementation.
- Thorough understanding of secured products and the regulatory environment surrounding them.
