Job summary

A leading global foodservice company is seeking a Senior Manager of Safety for its Ontario operations. This position is office-based with periodic field visits and some travel within Ontario.

Qualifications

Job Summary

In this role, you’ll help shape the future of safety and quality assurance across Ontario, driving strategic initiatives and leveraging technology to create lasting impact. You’ll encourage your team to approach challenges with fresh perspectives and foster an environment where innovative ideas are welcomed.

Responsibilities

Now, if you were to come on board as our Senior Manager of Safety - Ontario, we’d ask you to do the following for us:

  • Lead with Purpose: Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Safety professionals. Inspire your team to think creatively and explore new approaches to safety and risk management.
  • Strategic Vision: Develop and communicate a forward-thinking safety strategy aligned with long-term business objectives. Use technology and data to anticipate risks and drive continuous improvement.
  • Foster Innovation: Create a culture where new ideas are valued and team members feel empowered to contribute their unique perspectives. Support professional growth and encourage learning.
  • Collaborate & Influence: Build strong relationships with operational leaders, business partners, and external stakeholders. Provide expert advice and thought leadership on emerging trends, regulatory changes, and best practices.
  • Drive Results: Analyze performance data, identify opportunities for improvement, and lead projects that elevate safety standards across all sectors. Ensure compliance with OH&S and Food Safety regulations while pursuing excellence in everything you do.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in Occupational Health & Safety and/or Food Safety, including at least 2 years in a management role within a complex or unionized environment.
  • A strategic mindset with a passion for long-term vision and inspiring leadership.
  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Certifications: CRSP/CHSC, CPH, or continuous food safety education (HACCP, GFSI, etc.) preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to inspire, support, and develop others.
Working Conditions
  • Primarily office-based with periodic field visits.
  • Frequent interaction with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.
  • Some travel required within Ontario.
