We are growing our team and looking for a Senior Manager, Regulatory Compliance. The Senior Manager, regulatory Compliance serves as a trusted advisor and escalation point on complex compliance and regulatory matters, fostering collaboration across cross‑functional teams to support enterprise‑wide risk management objectives. Through strong leadership, sound judgment, and proactive engagement, the incumbent promotes a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement, representing the Credit Union with professionalism and ensuring adherence to all corporate and regulatory standards.

You would
  • Provide strategic leadership to the Risk & Compliance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and alignment with the Credit Union’s purpose and values.
  • Oversee recruitment, performance management, career development, and succession planning in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Lead regular communications to align staff with policy updates, strategic direction, and organizational performance goals.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor operational policies, programs, and procedures that enhance efficiency, compliance, and member experience.
  • Oversee data integrity, system administration, and staff access management, ensuring appropriate internal controls and documentation.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for compliance, fraud prevention, and business continuity programs (e.g., FINTRAC, Privacy, CASL), ensuring effective risk mitigation and internal control frameworks.
  • Act as a subject‑matter expert, leading compliance reviews, audits, and risk assessments to ensure regulatory readiness and organizational resilience.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to identify, assess, and mitigate enterprise risks, embedding compliance and risk management into business processes and initiatives.
  • Oversee departmental budgeting and resource planning to support efficiency, innovation, and regulatory excellence.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, systems, and process improvements to strengthen compliance and operational performance.
  • Provide insight and guidance to senior leadership on regulatory risk exposure, emerging issues, and policy implications.
  • Build strong partnerships across internal teams, branches, and external partners to advance the Credit Union’s goals and compliance posture.
  • Represent the Credit Union in external forums and community initiatives, promoting the organization’s values and reputation as a trusted, community‑focused credit union.
  • Lead or support enterprise‑wide projects and initiatives that drive innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
You have
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field plus at least seven years of progressive experience in a senior role involving risk management and compliance, including a minimum of three years of leadership experience, preferably in the banking industry. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Professional designations in areas such as Fraud, Privacy, or Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) will be considered valuable assets.
You are
  • A demonstrated leader in coaching, developing, and motivating high‑performing teams, fostering collaboration, trust, and accountability.
  • Focused on understanding operational risk, fraud prevention, business continuity, and compliance frameworks, with the ability to apply these strategically across the organization.
  • Experienced in developing, implementing, and overseeing regulatory compliance programs, audits, and reviews, with expert knowledge of Canadian financial regulations (e.g., FINTRAC, CASL, Privacy Act).
