A leading financial services firm in Toronto is seeking a Senior Manager for Process Automation and Innovation. Job Title: Senior Manager, Process Automation and Innovation within the Third Party IT Risk Team. This role will oversee and optimize processes and procedures within the RBC Third Party IT Risk Program. The successful candidate will design, implement, and enhance workflows to drive operational efficiency with a strong focus on leveraging automation. The position requires a combination of technical expertise, business analysis, and project management skills, with a data-driven approach to align technology solutions with organizational objectives.
Lead End-to-End Transformation Initiatives: Partner with business/process/product owners to drive strategic projects from concept to execution, delivering measurable improvements in efficiency and effectiveness through automation.
Leverage Advanced Technologies: Integrate artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other tools to automate workflows, reduce manual effort, and enhance operational scalability.
Optimize Workflows Through Data-Driven Insights: Identify process inefficiencies, analyze operational data, and propose automation opportunities grounded in empirical evidence.
Maintain Process Integrity: Document and update standardized processes and procedures to ensure compliance with RBC policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Measure and Monitor Performance: Establish and track KPIs to evaluate process efficiency, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement.
Ensure Compliance and Quality: Conduct periodic reviews of processes and workflows to verify adherence to internal standards, mitigate risks, and maintain operational excellence.
Drive Adoption and Change Management: Design and deliver training for teams and end-users to facilitate transitions to new tools, processes, and methodologies.
Collaborate Across Functions: Work with cross-functional teams to align project deliverables with RBC’s strategic objectives and maximize business impact.
Build Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence decision-making and secure buy-in for transformative initiatives.
Champion Innovation: Contribute to organizational change by identifying trends, piloting innovative solutions, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Enhance Operational and Client Outcomes: Analyze datasets to uncover patterns and opportunities to improve operational efficiency, client experiences, and service delivery.
Must have:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Engineering, or related technical/analytical field. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Professional Experience: 5+ years in roles such as Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst, with demonstrated progression in responsibility. Experience must include requirements management for large-scale, complex projects spanning both business and technology domains.
Process Expertise: Proven ability to design, document, and optimize business processes and procedures, ensuring alignment with objectives and compliance standards.
Technical Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience with business analysis and modeling tools, including data flow diagrams, entity-relationship models, and BPMN.
Data Management: Advanced proficiency in SQL, with ability to write complex queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
Business Intelligence Solutions: Experience developing and managing BI dashboards and reporting solutions using platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Strong presentation and storytelling skills, with ability to distill complex insights into clear recommendations for diverse audiences.
Project Management Fundamentals: Working knowledge of project lifecycles, timeline management, risk mitigation, and resource allocation.
Performance Metrics Development: Expertise in designing and monitoring KPIs and performance reports to drive data-informed decision-making.
Risk Management Expertise: Familiarity with cyber/IT risk management or relevant certifications (e.g., CRISC, CISSP, or CISA) is strongly preferred, particularly for roles involving identifying, assessing, and mitigating technology-related risks.
Technical Proficiency: Programming knowledge in a core language such as Python, with the ability to apply coding skills to automate tasks, analyze data, or support technical initiatives.
Professional Certifications: Certification such as CBAP or PMI-PBA is advantageous, reflecting advanced expertise in business analysis methodologies.
