Job description

Contributes to the overall success of the IB Finance ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for developing and optimizing data and reporting tools to inform executive decision‑making and the work conducted by the team. Ensures all activities conducted comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis providing actionable insights to senior management regarding the division / function’s performance.
  • Evaluate financial performance by supporting and monitoring key metrics and performance measurement criteria. This includes delivering detailed analysis for Forecasts, Quarterly Reporting and Supplementary Reports.
  • Develop ad‑hoc analyses, consolidating data to review variances and/or trends.
  • Advise local (countries) teams to ensure methodology and processes align with best practices and organizational goals.
  • Coordinate with country specialist teams to ensure analysis and reporting trends and results are consistent.
  • Ensure the integrity and reliability of financial results and oversee the timely completion of financial reporting processes.
  • Champions a customer‑focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day‑to‑day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day‑to‑day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Qualifications
  • MBA or undergrad in Business, Economics, Statistics, Engineering
  • +8 years’ experience in accounting, financial analysis and reports
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Spanish is an asset
