In this role, you will coordinate with internal and external teams and stakeholders to plan, execute and integrate communications activities, including content development, publishing, measurement and other operations. As a subject matter expert, you will give direction to team members on tactics and execution and work collaboratively across global centers of expertise

How you will contribute

You will develop strategy and implement internal and external communication processes and deliver results in your area of expertise. To generate positive media coverage for the company and its brands, you will develop a media strategy and build strong media relations with Tier-1 media and global media in your geographic area. You will work with internal cross-functional teams to protect and strengthen the company and brands’ reputation by developing content and managing related communications channels and provide Mondelēz International spokespeople with talking points, ensuring their visibility by monitoring business events and proactively managing their speaking opportunities. In addition, you will represent Mondelēz International as a spokesperson when appropriate; support the consumer relations function as it relates to social media and media coverage based on consumer feedback; edit and approve external communications to key accounts, distributors, consumers, and partners; support your local management team on internal communications and ensure effective co‑ordination with other functions; and ensure activities are delivered within budget.

In this role, you will oversee all communications and public and government affairs activities for Mondelez Canada and Give & Go. You are a business adviser who manages across internal and/or external advocacy and media relations, crisis and issues communications using integrated communications to promote and protect Mondelēz’s International reputation.

How you will contribute

In this role, you will be responsible for developing policy positions specific to Business Unit’s impact framework and goals, as well as serving as a key member of the team in driving the company’s CGA agenda, working closely with others within the North America and Global CGA team. You will assess business risks and opportunities to develop strategies that align public policy initiatives with business goals. You may also plan, execute, and integrate a range of communications activities in coordination with other teams and stakeholders.

Communications

Deliver a reputation‑building communications program working in partnership with the Manager of Communication and Government Affairs and the leadership team where required. You will use various forms of media and communications tactics and be responsible for communicating key messages to various audiences, external and internal. Responsibilities also include:

  • Develop and maintain third‑party relationships (i.e. trade associations, charities, etc.).
  • Contribute to weekly/monthly reports on CGA activities for NA and globally
  • Support and create corporate presentation materials
  • Support in press office activities, managing local media inquiries as required

Qualifications
  • At least 7 years work experience in government affairs, government or trade associations with a strong understanding of the legislative processes (required)

  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent project management skills
