We are looking for a Senior Manager, Enterprise Applications to lead the strategic oversight, optimization, and evolution of our enterprise application portfolio.
Reporting to the AVP, Information Systems, the Senior Manager, Enterprise Applications is a key role that has prime accountability for ensuring Choice’s application portfolio is fit for purpose and able to satisfy Choice’s business objectives. The successful candidate will play a key role in the selection, configuration, installation and integration of new applications, as well as the enhancement and optimization of existing ones. Close collaboration with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize application improvements is an important component of this position.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Portfolio Management
- Lead annual application and vendor assessments to evaluate alignment with business objectives, performance, and value. Identify opportunities to developing strategies for improving, leveraging or replacing existing systems.
- Requires comprehensive understanding of internal and industry standards and principles
- Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application-usage best practices.
- Guide the business on how to best use an application and recommend ways to improve the use of an application in order for the company to benefit from the systems that are in place
- Research and make recommendations on software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
- Integrates industry best practices in own area to achieve objectives
- Oversee new application/SaaS evaluation, selection, installation, configuration, contract negotiation, and integration.
- Collaborate with business units, analysts, project managers, and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications. Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality. Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
- Identify and resolves moderately complex business problems
- Collaborate with business application owners to implement regular application enhancement, and application/SaaS optimization.
- Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application-usage best practices.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to design, develop, and install application enhancements and upgrades.
- Manage custom development initiatives within Choice Properties’ platforms to meet business requirements and enhance operational efficiency.
Operational & Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the application team to deliver exceptional support and service.
- Develop departmental plans including organizational priorities.
- Collaborate with the application support team to maintain up-to-date knowledge of application support processes and ensure smooth transitions and updates.
- Compile and maintain inventory of company software and systems assets and their corresponding contracts/agreements.
- Working in collaboration with the application support team, develop and communicate training and documentation for end users, arrange for clinics as necessary, and other user-related activities.
Qualifications:
- College diploma or university degree in business administration, management, computer science, or a related field together.
- 10+ years of related work experience in enterprise application management, including SaaS, implementation and integration.
- Proven experience in overseeing the selection, configuration, and integration of new applications and SaaS solutions.
- Strong background in contract negotiation and vendor management.
- Experience administering application and vendor portfolio management assessment programs.
- Proficiency in managing custom development programs, particularly with platforms such as JD Edwards, OneStream and Low-Code platforms.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with business application owners and the Application Support team.

- Strong analytical skills to review existing applications and develop strategies for their enhancement and optimization.
- Effective communication skills to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure smooth transitions and updates within the organization.
- Ability to work closely with stakeholders to continuously improve application performance and align with business goals.
