Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting

Allied is looking for a Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting to join our Accounting and Finance team in Toronto.

What will you do?
  • Oversee timely preparation of quarter‑end and year‑end financial statements, Managements Discussion and Analysis, and press releases
  • Prepare external documents and supporting schedules for the annual information form, management information circular, and prospectuses
  • Research, interpret and prepare accounting policy documents supporting new International Financial Reporting Standards and accounting treatment for complex transactions
  • Perform benchmarking analyses to other companies in the industry for best‑in‑class disclosures and practices
  • Execute the accounting close for corporate revenues, including reviewing account reconciliations, journals, wires, and supporting working papers.
  • Manage the accounting and budgeting of compensation plans (restricted units, performance units, options)
  • Review of operational results for management reporting, including KPIs and capital projects
  • Review corporate budgets, and provide value‑added insights and supporting schedules into the annual corporate budgeting process
  • Develop and maintain effective internal controls across the organization
  • Responsible for providing accurate and complete inputs into other external reporting including Stats Canada surveys, ESG related reports, and other third party requests
  • Key liaison with external auditors and regulatory bodies
  • Support various special projects and ad hoc analyses as they arise
What are we looking for?
  • Designated CPA
  • Minimum of 7 years accounting experience ideally in the Real Estate Industry.
  • Advance knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including IFRS and external reporting compliance;
  • An assertive self‑starter who is proactive with a positive attitude, excellent organization and analytical skills, ability to manage multiple demands, and possesses a keen attention to details.
  • Focused with a passion to drive and deliver effective change in as short a period as possible;
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, complex, fast‑paced environment, to adapt quickly and to manage changing priorities;
  • Strong computer skills, with advanced skills in MS Excel and knowledge of MS Word;
Would be an asset:
  • Experience with Yardi
  • Fluency in French
