BCI is seeking a Senior Manager within our Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) team to provide strategic HR leadership and advisory services to our global BCI business teams.
Located in either BCI’s HQ office in Victoria or our Vancouver office, this role will work primarily with our Capital Markets & Credit Investments team and other investment-related roles.
The Senior Manager (Senior HR Business Partner) provides strategic HR leadership and advice to leaders of specific client groups and is a key contributor to deploying, growing, and supporting innovative, practical, and business-focused talent initiatives and activities covering all aspects of organizational growth, culture, and talent.
8+ years of progressive experience in human resources, with significant experience in an HRBP role or consultant, in an investment management or investment-adjacent organization.
Sound business acumen and knowledge of the investment/financial industry to complement expert-level knowledge in emerging human resources practices.
Excellent advisory skills and ability to influence and build trusted relationships with senior audiences.
Experience in coaching, team building, and mentoring is essential.
Strong problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage at both the tactical and strategic levels in a complex, global environment.
Track record of leading initiatives and executing in complex situations.
Superior strategic-thinking and initiative implementation abilities.
Excellent writing ability.
Excellent verbal communication – a balance of straightforward, direct communication that respects the variety of business expertise within the organization.
The Business Partnership Center of Excellence (COE) is comprised of a team of 10 who are responsible for the delivery of BCI’s people strategies and programs to all internal stakeholders and acts as the primary contact between HR and BCI’s employees.
Partner with business leaders in the creation and execution of overall business strategies focused on talent and people initiatives.
Provide guidance, coaching, and advice to senior leaders on a range of HR strategic functions that create long-term benefit for BCI.
Provide creative solutions and options that balance HR practices, employment law considerations, and the business realities of a global investment organization.
Build organizational capability by influencing the alignment of strategy, culture, practices, and behavior.
Understand, assess, and respond to complex situations and provide strategic and innovative HR and/or business solutions to drive results.
Provide guidance, mentorship, feedback, and learning opportunities for HR team members.
Help to support and cultivate the organizational culture, advocating organizational values and effective leadership.
Drive talent management with respect to the talent review and succession processes to ensure the most effective use of talent and resources.
Actively collaborate by exchanging (listening and sharing) information, observations, and learnings with partners and colleagues to drive continuous improvement and operational effectiveness.
Embracing AI and using data-based insights to earn trust, deliver results, influence, and relate to others.
Option 1: Work from our downtown Victoria office.
Option 2: Work from our downtown Vancouver office and travel to/from Victoria ~ monthly.

The annualized base salary range for this role is CAD $120,000 to $150,000.
