Job description

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.

At Affirm, we’re reinventing how people pay. No hidden fees. No compounding interest. Just flexible, transparent payment options that empower consumers. After leading the Buy Now, Pay Later movement, we’re now transforming everyday payments—and our Card Platform is at the center of it. We power 5M+ Affirm Cards and $10B+ in annual GMV and is the backbone of Affirm’s direct to consumer business. We handle everything from card issuance and transaction processing to ledgers, disputes, and reconciliations. Unlike traditional debit or credit cards, Affirm Cards are loan-backed, which means every swipe requires instant precision.

What you’ll do
  • Lead the Card Platform analytics function—partner closely with Product and Engineering leadership to build metrics frameworks, tie results to OKRs, and drive product strategy
  • Build reliable self-serve dashboards and monitoring for transaction success, dispute rates, and economics.
  • Guide platform migrations and integrations—define roadmaps, prioritize, and measure success.
  • Improve disputes and chargeback processes to maximize customer experience and unit economics.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product to productionize pipelines, raise data quality, and scale self-serve.
  • Expand Affirm acceptance in digital wallets, leading consumer bank apps, international markets and other new checkout modalities
What we look for
  • 10+ years in analytics or data science (ideally cards, payments, or fintech) and 5+ years leading teams. Bonus points for knowledge of the card transaction lifecycle!
  • Fluency in SQL; comfort with Python/R; strong grounding in experimentation
  • Experience building analytics for zero-to-one product launches and integrations.
  • Deep knowledge and platform economics.
  • Ability to influence executives and engineers alike with clarity and conviction.
  • A bias for action—and a knack for automating away the boring stuff.
