Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. in Longueuil, QC is seeking a Senior Manager Accounting for a 12-month assignment.

You will oversee the monthly to annual close, maintain internal controls, and support audits and tax compliance while leading a team of accounting professionals. Reporting to the Director - Shared Financial Services, you will collaborate with IT to optimize ERP systems, participate in budgeting and financial analyses, and help drive responsible growth and performance in a dynamic,

Qualifications

• A minimum of 8-10 years of accounting experience.
• Bilingualism in French and English is required.
• Experience with financial close processes, audits, and tax compliance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and sales tax returns.
• Ensure the preparation and accuracy of financial statements.
• Coordinate audit file preparation and annual tax returns.
• Participate in budgeting and provide value-added analyses.
• Maintain rigorous internal controls and improve accounting processes.
• Collaborate with IT to optimize financial systems and ERP.
• Participate in special projects and respond to ad hoc requests.
• Supervise and develop a team of accounting professionals.
• Recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of team members.

Your contribution!

Reporting to the Director - Shared Financial Services, the Senior Manager Accounting will play a key role in overseeing the organization’s accounting activities for a 12-month assignment. The incumbent will coordinate financial close processes, prepare and review financial statements, maintain rigorous internal controls, and provide support for audits and tax compliance. They will also contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and financial systems, while leading and supporting a team of professionals in a dynamic and growing environment.

Your day-to-day!

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.

• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and sales tax returns.

• Ensure the preparation and accuracy of financial statements.

• Coordinate the preparation of audit files and annual tax returns.

• Participate in the budgeting process and prepare value-added financial analyses.

• Ensure that rigorous internal controls are maintained and contribute to the improvement of accounting processes.

• Collaborate with internal teams, particularly IT, to optimize financial systems and the ERP.

• Participate in various special projects and respond to ad hoc requests from the organization.

• Supervise, motivate, and support a team of accounting professionals.

• Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of team members.

Your skills, our requirements!

• Bilingualism (French and English, both spoken and written) is required to ensure collaboration with various stakeholders outside Quebec on a recurring basis.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of accounting experience
