Job summary

RBC is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our AI & Innovation team in Toronto. You will design and deploy ML models and generative AI solutions, mentor peers, and ensure scalable, high-quality code across projects.

You will collaborate with data analytics to translate business needs into technical solutions, advance ML capabilities, and stay current with industry trends to drive RBC's AI strategy.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in programming and scripting languages (Java, Python, Shell Script, etc.)
• Hands-on experience developing and managing ML model pipelines, feature engineering, model training, and inferencing
• Proven experience with LLM models (Cohere, Haiku, and other cognitive services) in production environments
• Deep expertise in deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to understand product usage and generate innovative ideas
• Experience with application monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Prognosis)
• Solid knowledge of DevOps tools and practices (GitHub, Jenkins, Urban Code, Nexus, Ansible)
• Public and Private cloud expertise (Azure, AWS, GCP, OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes)

We are seeking a talented Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our AI & Innovation team at Royal Bank of Canada. In this role, you will drive the development and deployment of cutting-edge machine learning and generative AI solutions that enhance our products and services.

What You’ll Do

• Design and Deploy AI Solutions: Conduct hands-on application design, coding, and deployment of machine learning models and generative AI use cases
• Advance ML Capabilities: Enhance machine learning use case development, model training, and feature engineering pipelines
• Build GenAI Solutions: Develop hands‑on solutions using generative AI technologies, building both new use cases and enhancing existing ones
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with our Data Analytics team to leverage machine learning expertise and translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical influence by sharing knowledge, mentoring team members, and establishing best practices
• Maintain Excellence: Ensure code quality, best practices, and scalability across all deliverables
• Stay Current: Research emerging trends and industry best practices, evaluating implications for our business strategy

What You Need to Succeed – Must-Have’s
