GEMTEC is a growing firm with offices throughout Atlantic Canada and in Ontario, and we are looking for a motivated and skilled Senior Leader (Engineer, Scientist or Project Manager) and Team Lead / Branch Manager to join our team. We are seeking a full-time Senior Leader and Team Lead / Branch Manager to oversee our operations in Northern Ontario; office location to be determined, with a preference for Sudbury or North Bay.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

Educational & Experience Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in civil / environmental engineering, mining, or science from an accredited institution; or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Registered Professional designation (e.g., P.Eng., P.Geo., C.E.T.) with 10+ years of experience in an engineering / science consulting environment.
  • A self-starter capable of working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to present technical information clearly and professionally, both written and verbally.

Summary of Main Duties :

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in:

  • Overseeing daily operations of the new office in Northern Ontario, including supervising and mentoring staff.
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships with a service excellence mindset.
  • Leading projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
  • Developing project plans, schedules, and risk management strategies.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical excellence and efficiency.
  • Managing project aspects such as invoicing, budgeting, scheduling, and scope management.
  • Preparing and reviewing proposals, reports, client contracts, and sub-contracts.
  • Recruting and training new staff as needed.
  • Identifying new market opportunities and undertaking business development initiatives.
  • Managing office administration, budgeting, KPIs, performance reviews, and other operational needs.
  • Adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Performing other relevant duties as required.

Position :

  • Full-time (37.5 hours/week), contract or part-time position.
