Job description

The Senior Lead Engineer, Software develops, debugs, tests, deploys and supports code to be deployed in systems/products/equipment for various applications. They write, debug, maintain, and test software in various common languages and for software at various levels of the Software Stack, and work in cross functional teams with other designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development.

Responsibilities
  • Architect and implement scalable, reliable, and high-performance software systems for data processing, model training, and inference.
  • Integrate machine learning models into production-ready applications and services using modern CI/CD practices.
  • Profile and optimize software systems to ensure low latency and high throughput.
  • Utilize technologies like Docker and Kubernetes to containerize and manage the deployment of our AI applications.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of engineers. May be a recognized expert (go to person) in one or more technical areas
  • Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with customers, users, project managers and other engineers.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.
Requirements
  • Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Python, Rust, or C/C++.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Operating Systems: Proficiency with Linux environments.
  • Containerization: Hands-on experience with container technologies like Docker. Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Development Tools: Experience working in an Agile environment using tools like Jira for tracking work and defects, and git or equivalent tools for source control.
  • Databases: Solid experience with both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) databases. Timeseries databases such as Prometheus are nice to have.
  • Application Protocols: Expertise with one or more of gRPC, REST and HTTPS application APIs, gNMI.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: A strong analytical mindset and the ability to tackle complex software engineering challenges.
  • Eagerness to Learn: A genuine interest in artificial intelligence and a strong desire to learn new technologies and concepts.
  • Project Management - Ability to manage/lead complex engineering projects.
  • Leadership - Demonstrate 'People & Team Leadership Behaviors' as per Celestica Leadership Imperatives.
