We're currently looking for a Senior Claims Leader to lead a team of examiners and large loss file handlers.

What you'll do:
Accountable for leading a team of property file handlers, including managing large loss claims, and achieving business outcomes related to customer service, team development, and financial performance.
Create an environment that enables team members to perform at their best and build capabilities for career progression, aligning with current and future business needs.
Identify and improve system conditions and eliminate waste that impact customer service, team environment, and financial results.
Develop, implement, and monitor claims standards, risk and compliance standards, training curricula, and project management practices.
Manage operational risks associated with team output, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
Model Aviva Values and lead with a culture of People, Business, and Innovation.
Communicate clearly and confidently, fostering collaboration and sharing a vision of desired outcomes and team contributions.
Key Accountabilities:
Oversee accurate indemnity spending on complex, high-value property claims, with a focus on commercial claims.
Ensure optimal customer outcomes, financial results, and risk management for large loss files.
Identify emerging risks, implement controls, and monitor for fraud or financial irregularities.
Manage team performance, support career development, and succession planning.
Coordinate with other units such as recovery, underwriting, and complaints.
Use data insights and team expertise to enhance performance, customer experience, and financial outcomes, optimizing resources creatively.
Lead and motivate the team, fostering ownership, agility, transparency, inclusion, curiosity, and respect.
Drive change initiatives within the team.
What you'll bring:
Post-secondary education with a CIP/FCIP designation.
Deep understanding of end-to-end large loss property claims, with ability to troubleshoot and develop team capabilities.
Leadership experience in insurance is preferred.
Strong performance management and capability development skills.
Experience or studies in continuous improvement.
Excellent communication skills for engaging and influencing at all levels.
Technical proficiency, with experience as a large loss adjuster or examiner.
Analytical problem-solving skills to interpret data and improve team performance.
Curiosity and creativity.
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
