Job summary

The Wissen Technology team in Montreal is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to join a hybrid, on-site 3-4 days per week role. This VP/Director level position demands 10+ years of experience and a strong command of Java/J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.

You will work with databases, Linux/Unix, and modern DevOps practices while collaborating with stakeholders across the client ecosystem. The role is full-time and located in Montreal, QC.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Java software engineering or equivalent.
• Strong background in J2EE, Spring, Hibernate and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with databases, Linux/Unix, and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and promote engineering excellence within delivery teams.

Role: Senior Java Software Engineer

Title: VP/Director

Location: Montreal, QC

Experience: 10+

Mode of Work: Onsite 3-4 days per week

Required skills:

• Experience with Java/J2EE, DB technologies.
• Experience with Java frameworks like Spring, Hibernate, Spring boot.
• Experience on Databases & Linux/Unix.
• Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs and Microservices.
• Knowledge of database systems: SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), and optionally NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB).
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies
• Knowledge of design and development skills.
• Good problem solving and analytical skills.
• Experience in a fast-based business environment with a proven ability to balance multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
• The ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment.
• The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to internal and external stakeholders.
• The ability to multitask and disciplined attention to detail, along with a team player mentality.
