Job summary

HCLTech in Montreal is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design and build scalable enterprise applications. You will work hands-on with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, REST APIs and Microservices to deliver event-driven solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You will collaborate with architects and stakeholders, participate in code reviews, and help shape best practices for reliability, security, and performance across distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of enterprise Java development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and enterprise app development.
• Experience designing scalable, secure, and maintainable applications.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and software development best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build scalable, secure, and high-performing REST APIs and Microservices.
• Design and implement event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.
• Collaborate with architects, business stakeholders, and development teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in application design, code reviews, and technical discussions.
• Ensure application performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues in distributed systems and production environments.
• Contribute to best practices, architecture standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
