Job summary

Astra-North Infoteck Inc. is seeking a Senior Java Developer in Toronto, hybrid setup (4 days WFO). You will work on Java applications with Spring Boot, build microservices, and integrate with Kafka clusters using Zookeeper. Strong CI/CD and containerization knowledge is required, along with experience in Swagger, MongoDB, SQL Server, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, GitHub, Docker, and JUnit.

You’ll participate in Agile development practices across a flexible, finance-forward environment.

Qualifications

• Strong Java development experience using Spring and Spring Boot Framework, Multi-Threading, and REST API.
• Experience in Kafka Producer and Consumer application on Kafka Cluster setup with Zookeeper.
• Experience in Spring Boot microservices to process messages into the Kafka cluster setup through REST API.
• Experience in Confluent/Apache Kafka architecture, Confluent/Apache Kafka design principles, and CI/CD deployment procedures.
• Experience in Swagger, MongoDB, and SQL Server.
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana.
• Experience in GitHub, Docker, and JUnit.
• Experience in executing various development methodologies such as Agile, etc.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java applications using Spring/Spring Boot and microservices Architectures.
• Design and implement Kafka producers/consumers and integrate with Kafka clusters (Zookeeper).
• Expose services via REST APIs and ensure robust CI/CD deployment pipelines.
• Leverage Confluent/Apache Kafka concepts and architecture in deployments.
• Work with Swagger, MongoDB, and SQL Server for data storage and API docs.
