Senior Java Developer – Empowering Canadians Through Digital Innovation

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic team of IT professionals dedicated to delivering intuitive, secure and high‑performing digital self‑serve solutions. Our mission is to help Canadians better understand and access the health, dental and medication coverage available to them and ultimately to improve their well‑being.

In this role you will :
  • Contribute to meaningful digital solutions that enable clients to easily search for nearby health professionals and access the care they need.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues by identifying root causes in code or data and implementing robust, maintainable fixes that enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate across technical teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and continuous improvement of our digital offerings based on client feedback and evolving needs.
  • Champion innovation and client‑centric design, helping shape the future of self‑serve capabilities that make a real difference in the lives of Canadians.
  • Work on impactful projects in a collaborative environment where your expertise will directly contribute to improving access to care across the country.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of product development experience, including working on a web development team interpreting specifications and developing, testing and documenting software application components.
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience with Java, Spring, Hibernate, SQL.
  • Experience with micro‑service architecture and design patterns.
  • Experience with REST APIs.
  • Experience with code versioning tools such as Git.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with relational databases such as Oracle.
  • Experience with Spring Boot.
  • Experience with server‑side web frameworks such as JSF.
  • Experience with JavaScript and SPA frameworks such as React.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
  • Ability to lead, mentor and guide less experienced developers in best practices.
