Job Description

The Senior IT Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple concurrent IT and digital health projects. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, governance oversight, and experience delivering complex healthcare initiatives while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and ministry expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, initiation, execution, monitoring, and closure of multiple concurrent IT and digital health projects.
  • Develop and maintain project charters, project plans, work breakdown structures, schedules, and scope statements.
  • Manage project resources, dependencies, deliverables, timelines, and budgets.
  • Establish and maintain project governance structures, including steering committees, working groups, and decision‑making pathways.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain project artifacts such as RAID logs, work plans, status reports, and dashboards.
  • Support project start-up activities, including SharePoint site setup, project calendars, contact lists, and collaboration tools.
  • Ensure alignment with ministry standards, enterprise architecture, and PMO methodologies.
  • Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, including agendas, materials, minutes, and action tracking.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, vendors, external partners, and healthcare stakeholders.
  • Communicate project progress, decisions, risks, and issues to sponsors, senior leadership, and governance groups.
  • Identify, anticipate, and escalate risks, resistance, and delivery challenges with recommended mitigation strategies.
  • Support change management and communication planning for impacted stakeholders.
  • Produce high‑quality reports, presentations, and briefing materials for senior and executive leadership.
  • Monitor and report project status against objectives, deliverables, milestones, budget, and resource utilization.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of decisions, issues, actions, and change requests.
  • Ensure compliance with approved governance frameworks, methodologies, and health information requirements.
  • Conduct post‑project assessments, capture lessons learned, and recommend process improvements.
Requirement/Must Have
  • Demonstrated experience developing integrated plans, portfolio reporting, and executive‑level project communications.
  • Proven experience leading healthcare portfolios or initiatives of similar size and complexity.
  • Experience supporting clients in executing strategies involving technology, process improvement, organizational design, and IT operations.
  • Strong experience developing project documentation for strategic, business improvement, and IT initiatives.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including public‑sector users.
  • Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and align solutions to product vision and user needs.
  • Senior leadership experience defining project scope, goals, roadmaps, governance models, briefing notes, and business cases.
  • Strong experience leading project governance, change management, and communication activities.
Experience
  • Extensive experience managing large‑scale IT and healthcare‑related projects.
  • Proven success delivering complex initiatives within public sector or regulated environments.
Should Have
  • Experience with data integration between clinical applications in the Canadian eHealth environment.
