Confluence Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure Administrator, DevOps to advance our Cloud Infrastructure team.

The role focuses on hands-on DevOps, cloud automation and engineering, migrating products to a common Azure foundation and implementing IaC across Windows and Linux environments. You will work with Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD tooling, while using AI tools responsibly to accelerate coding, automation and documentation.

Qualifications

• Practical experience delivering Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Experience with major cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS acceptable).
• Software engineering or automation projects demonstrating scripting/engineering capabilities.
• Programming/scripting in Python, PowerShell, Bash or Java.
• Experience automating Windows and Linux environments; cross-platform skills.
• Familiarity with CI/CD principles and tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Willingness to use generative AI in engineering workflow and review outputs.

We are looking for a Senior IT Infrastructure Administrator, DevOps to join our Cloud Infrastructure team and help build the next generation of Confluence’s cloud environment.

This is predominantly a hands on DevOps, cloud automation and engineering role, rather than a traditional infrastructure support position. You will contribute to Cloudnxt Azure, our new Azure foundation, helping migrate products including Omnia, One Connect and UDL onto a common cloud environment. You will work on Infrastructure as Code, cloud migration, deployment automation and the processes needed to operate these environments effectively.

You will join an internationally distributed team and play an important part in accelerating our move towards repeatable, automated infrastructure. While project delivery will be your main focus, you will also bring enough broader infrastructure knowledge to provide cover across Windows, Linux and Active Directory when required.

• Build and automate cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles, supporting Confluence’s evolving Azure environment.
• Support cloud migration projects as products move onto the Cloudnxt Azure platform.
• Develop automation that replaces manual infrastructure processes with repeatable, version controlled solutions across Microsoft and Linux environments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes using Jenkins or equivalent technologies.
• Use generative AI tools responsibly to accelerate coding, automation, troubleshooting and technical documentation, while critically reviewing and validating outputs.
• Create clear technical documentation, procedures and runbooks while contributing to the wider team’s operational responsibilities when required.

What skills and experience do I need to succeed?

• Practical experience delivering Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Experience working with a major cloud platform. Azure is preferred, although relevant AWS experience and the ability to transfer your knowledge to Azure will also be considered.
• Software engineering capability demonstrated through development, advanced scripting or automation projects.
• Programming or scripting capability using a relevant language such as Python, PowerShell, Bash or Java. You do not need experience with every language listed.
• Experience automating Microsoft and Windows based environments and a willingness to work across both Windows and Linux technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD principles and tooling such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or equivalent.
• An automation focused engineering mindset with the ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and apply transferable engineering principles.
• A willingness to use generative AI as part of your engineering workflow and the judgement to review, validate and improve AI generated outputs.

• Hands on Azure experience, particularly across cloud infrastructure, automation, migrations or landing zones.
• Experience with Ansible or other configuration management technologies.Knowledge of monitoring, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, vulnerability remediation or cloud security.
• Practical experience using Claude or another generative AI assistant for engineering, troubleshooting, log analysis or documentation.
• Relevant cloud or automation certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator, AWS Solutions Architect or HashiCorp Terraform Associate.

More about the Location

We offer flexible working options for all employees. Ideally you would be based in or near Toronto or Montreal to be able to attend the office approximately twice per week. However, we would also consider individuals in Pittsburgh.
