Effective April 1, 2025, the new salary range for this position will be $84,478 to $124,487 per year in accordance with AMAPCEO collective agreement provisions.

Note: One position will be located in the Education Audit Branch, and the other will be located in the Health Audit Branch.

About the job

Collaborate with education sector or health sector ministries to ensure sensitive information is protected and technology is used safely, securely, and efficiently. In this role, you will be exposed to a wide variety of work, from application security audits to project risk assessments, which means every day might look a little different, but you can expect to:

  • plan and lead complex IT audits and consulting engagements
  • evaluate internal controls and processes in areas such as IT governance, including data governance and privacy,
  • information and cyber security, IT service management, IT project management, infrastructure, and networking
  • provide expert advice on risk management practices and IT controls, including industry best practices
  • document assessments, results, observations, and findings, and prepare audit working papers
  • write comprehensive audit reports and present findings and recommendations
What you bring to the team
Technical knowledge and experience

You have demonstrated:

  • knowledge of generally accepted auditing practices, including risk management and control strategies
  • knowledge and experience working with current and emerging technologies and related issues in areas such as information security, data analytics, and online services, identifying risks/challenges associated with these technologies and recommending strategies to address them
  • experience leading and executing complex Information and Information Technology (IT) audits and advisory engagements, with a focus on System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and system implementation projects
  • the ability to apply innovative audit methodologies to evaluate risks, assess internal controls, and provide strategic insights that support effective governance and project delivery
Communication skills

You are a strong communicator who can:

  • prepare clear audit reports, briefings, and correspondence tailored to diverse audiences, including executive management and audit committees
  • present findings and recommendations effectively to senior and executive stakeholders
  • explain complex IT risks and control issues in a way that builds understanding and trust
  • influence strategic decisions by providing credible technical advice and fostering strong relationships
Analytical and project management skills

You have demonstrated experience:

  • analyzing information to identify issues and recommend solutions, while also finding opportunities for process improvement
  • adapting to changing priorities, and managing multiple audits within deadlines and budget
  • utilizing data analytics tools (e.g. IDEA, Excel, Tableau and PowerBI) to analyze data, identify risks/trends and support the audit process
