Job summary

Lightspeed Commerce seeks a Senior iOS Developer in Canada to join our Hospitality squad and help expand our Lightspeed POS.iOS ecosystem for new markets, while delivering state-of-the-art experiences for restaurateurs.

You’ll work with SwiftUI, UIKit, Core Data and REST, write automated tests, and champion clean code, performance, and reliable app experiences as we scale across NOAM/EMEA regions.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in SwiftUI, UIKit and modern Swift.
  • Strong knowledge of Structured Concurrency and REST APIs.
  • Experience with Core Data and SQLite databases.
  • Familiarity with Apple Human Interface Guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate to enhance iOS app features and workflows.
  • Design and implement iOS features using SwiftUI.
  • Balance feature development with maintenance of integrations for new markets.
  • Engage with Product Managers, Designers and cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and advocate for code quality.
  • Improve app reliability and instrumentation across the POS app.
  • Share best practices and drive innovation in iOS development.

We are looking for a Senior iOS Developer to join one of our squads where you will be supporting Lightspeed’s Hospitality product group on the mission to expand our reach into new markets and countries while enhancing our advanced hospitality commerce platform.

For this role specifically, you will be joining the team focused on the Lightspeed POS that enables customers to optimize their business workflows. Our mission is to make sure that our flagship product is perfect for our target audience in EMEA and NOAM markets and provides a variety of integrations with our partners.

You will join a healthy and collaborative team, continuously improving our engineering practices, and delivering state-of-the-art technology, all while keeping it fun. Above all, your work will change the way restaurateurs across the world experience hospitality.
Please note this role is based in Canada.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Collaborate with some of the industry's top talents to enhance our iOS app by developing innovative features and user-centric workflows.
  • Design and implement elegant, efficient, and functional mobile applications tailored for iOS devices using SwiftUI.
  • Prioritize daily activities between the development of new features and the maintenance of existing integrations, with a strong focus on expanding our presence in new markets through novel iOS capabilities.
  • Report to the squad’s Team Lead and maintain active engagement with Product Managers, Designers, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and performance within the POS application.
  • Participate in daily Agile ceremonies, engage in grooming sessions, and execute cutting-edge solutions that enhance user engagement.
  • Champion high standards in code quality and system reliability, take ownership of the codebase, and contribute to the robustness of our infrastructure.
  • Elevate the team's performance by sharing insights, adopting best practices in iOS development, and continually seeking ways to innovate and improve our app.

What you need to bring:

  • Advanced programming skills in SwiftUI
  • Good knowledge of Structured Concurrency, Blockchain, UIKit, Swift, SQLite, Core Data, REST APIs
  • Good knowledge of Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines
  • Experience in writing automated unit and functional tests
  • Good conceptual understanding of software design and code quality
  • Experience with local network communication, external hardware accessories (e.g. payment terminals, printers) is a plus
  • Experience with use of AI tools and implementation of agentic workflows
