Job summary

Alberta Blue Cross® in Alberta seeks a Senior Auditor to join Internal Audit Services, reporting to the Director. You will collaborate with Operations, Risk and Assurance, and FP&A to strengthen financial controls and provide advisory support.

You will develop CSAE 3416 reports and ICOFR programs, identify process improvements, lead audit projects, and coach staff while contributing to the annual risk-based audit plan and ensuring effective controls across the organization.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of progressive auditing experience.
• Knowledge of audit methodologies, risk assessment, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Experience with CSAE 3416 reporting or ICOFR programs.
• Experience designing and improving reports and processes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills enabling collaboration with executives and managers.
• Ability to present information and facilitate decision making.
• Excellent time management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong project management and organizational abilities.
• Ability to prioritize multiple deliverables and meet deadlines.
• Initiative and ownership mindset.
• Knowledge of IIA standards and Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the delivery of CSAE 3416 reports and related financial control requirements.
• Document and update controls documentation including narratives, risk and control matrices and flowcharts.
• Scope, design and implement controls with process owners to address key risks.
• Plan and perform tests of controls and oversee remediation of deficiencies.
• Promote uniformity and automation of controls using financial systems and technology.
• Assist in developing policies in collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulators regarding CSAE 3416 reporting.
• Identify organizational and project risks and contribute to annual risk-based audit planning.
• Conduct full audit procedures: interviews, risk identification, evidence collection, and documentation.
• Document audit findings and recommendations with independent judgement.
• Present audit results to stakeholders and Audit & Conduct Review Committee.
• Provide training and coaching to audit staff on audits and controls.
